The Trailblazer Tie is a great pattern for youngsters (or anyone) learning to sew. It is a simple pattern but the end results are on par with any top department store or couture brand.
The Trailblazer pattern includes kid friendly, no tie tie, and a traditional tie style. The traditional tie comes in three width options to choose form. If your guy likes the trendy skinny tie, then the 2″ skinny style is for him. Got a more traditional man, try the 2.75″ standard width. But, what about that old school 70’s type, the 3.5″ wide width is right on.
The standard tie pattern comes in 4 lengths as well, tween 48″, teen 53″, regular 58″, and extra long 63″ . So, each tie will be the perfect length.
But what about the kids!
Not every kid is comfortable wearing a tie. And let’s face it not every parent is comfortable with their kid wearing a tie. But here’s the great part about the Trailblazer kids tie, it is in two pieces. There is nothing that actually “ties” around the kids neck. This means the neck band is separate from the tie piece. The neck band is secured with velcro or snaps and the “tie” piece ties to the neckband. This is so that small kids cannot tighten the tie around their neck like traditional ties.
The kids tie comes in three sizes:
18m-3t, 15″ length, neck width 10-12″
2t-4t, 17″ length, neck width 11-13″
5t-7/8, 19″ neck width, 12-15″
