How to make a fleece no sew, no tie, 20 min blanket
Fleece is so easy to work with. It will not fray or unravel, so there is no need to sew anything! Although I do love sewing, sometimes you just want something a little quicker and different. I’ve seen tutorials for no sew fleece blankets, but they all want you to tie about 300+ knots of fleece. Well, I for one do not want to sit and tie 300+ knots, so I went with the cut, slit, and flip method. Don’t worry it is super easy. Here is what you’ll need:
- 2 yards for adult
- 1.5 yards for toddler
- 1 yard for baby
- Fabric sheers
Grab your fabric and lay it flat with wrong sides together, so the right sides are up. Smooth it out to remove all wrinkles, but don’t pull too much fleece will stretch. Once you are all smoothed out grab your ruler and measure in 4″ from each corner, and remove the 4″x4″ square. You are going to cut 4″ x 1.25″ strips all the way around the edges. Then you will flip up the strips and cut a small slit in the middle of the strip. Now, pull the strips through the hole. Continue to flip, cut and pull through for each strip. That’s it. Seriously, that is all. You now have an awesomely soft and warm blanket.
Here is your fabric smoothed out
Cut 4″x 1.25″ strips. This doesn’t have to perfect. I just basically eyeball it.
Flip them up.
Cut a small slit in the center.
Pull both layers through the slit.
You are all done!
