Hello gorgeous! February’s sewing challenge is upon us! The Date Night challenge is nothing more than an excuse for you to get all dolled up & sew something jaw draping for yourself.
This challenge will run from February 1st-28th giving you a full month to create and take photos. Your work will be voted on so picture quality and creativity is something to keep in mind. If you need help or are looking for some fun new photography tips check out my Picture Perfect blog post.
A few things to note before you get started
You MUST use a Ragamuffin Pattern for your date night look. Using Ragamuffin Fabric is optional, but will earn you an extra entry into the giveaway. This challenge is open to anything YOU consider “date night.” Meaning it doesn’t have to be the traditional little black dress and fancy dinner with flowers and candy. If chillin’ on the couch watching Netflix and garbing your favorite take out is an ideal date night for you, then let’s see it! Heck if hanging out with your friends is date night for you, then go for it have a great time and make sure you create a Ragamuffin look to wear while you’re out with gal pals. Some of us date ourselves, yes this is a thing. If this is you, feel free to share where you go and what you do in your alone time, but make sure you’re wearing something you created with a Ragamuffin pattern.
There is no limit to this challenge except you and your creativity. You can make this challenge as intricate or basic as you wish. You may choose any style you’d like and any fabric you’d like. My shop is full of great options but there is no requirement to use Ragamuffin Fabrics for this challenge.
Let’s take a look at some Date Night examples

This dress sewn by the extremely talented Mariah Kathleen and is a great example of a a classic little black dress that’s an absolute perfect “Date Night” look.
She used the Cherry Bomb and my solid black cotton lycra to create this look. I would estimate she spent maybe an 45mins tops cutting and sewing this beauty.
See more of her work on her website, SewReina.com, & facebook group, Sew Reina VIP.

Here we have another stunning and brilliant example of a great date night look sewn by the wonderful and charming Callie Hone.
She used the Double Down Pattern and a fun solid black stretch crepe fabric (not from my shop) to create this stunning and classic look.

Now that you’ve been inspired by the beautiful work of these amazing seamstresses stop by my fabric shop to find that perfect fabric combo that screams “Date Night” to you.
